Lane Bryant in numbers
Lane Bryant is the best-known plus-size apparel chain in the US, and its lingerie department sells one brand: Cacique, designed in-house for bands from 34 to 54 and cups from B to K. How the Lane Bryant fit guide measures
The published guide is close to this site’s method. It has you wear a lightly lined, non-push-up bra, wrap the tape directly under the breasts, level with the bottom of the band, and read that as the band; then wrap the tape around the fullest part of the bust and subtract the band, at one inch per cup. Nothing is added to the underbust, which puts Lane Bryant on the right side of the add-four divide and is why its sizes translate to a measured size with only one adjustment.
The adjustment is the cup alphabet. The guide’s ladder runs 2 inches B, 3 C, 4 D, 5 DD, 6 DDD, then 7 F, 8 G, 9 H, 10 I, 11 J, 12 K. The US standard used on this site runs 7 G, 8 H, 9 I. So a Lane Bryant F is a US G, a Lane Bryant G is a US H, and every letter above DDD sits one rung earlier on their tag than on a Panache, Wacoal or Elomi tag for the same body. The guide’s own chart also says that between two sizes you should take the smaller for a tighter fit or the larger for a looser one. On the band, take the smaller: a loose band is the failure the sister-size chart on each product page exists to fix.

No. The published fit guide measures the band directly under the breasts and uses that number, which matches the snug method on this site. The difference between a Lane Bryant size and a measured size is in the cup letters above DDD, where Cacique inserts an F at seven inches.
What is my Lane Bryant bra size?
