Bra Size Equivalent Chart
One body, six labels. Every US size from 28A to 46H with its UK, EU, French, Australian and Italian equivalent and the two sister sizes that hold the same volume on the neighboring bands. Look one size up, or scroll the whole ladder.
Bands convert by formula and cups convert by position, never by matching letters: a US 34DD is a UK 34DD but an EU 75E. Sister sizes are the same cup on the next band: 32DDD and 36D for that 34DD.
Look up any size in every system
Pick a size in any system and the tool returns the other five labels and the sister sizes, with the underbust and bust the size describes so you can check it against a tape.
How bra size equivalents work
An equivalent is the label another system prints on the same body, so the conversion has to start from the body. The band is a snug underbust measurement, and each system just names it differently: the US and UK use the inches (34), continental Europe uses centimeters rounded to a five (75), France and Spain add fifteen to the European number (90), Australia subtracts 22 from the US number (12), and Italy counts bands from 1 (3). Those are formulas, and this site applies them exactly: EU is 2.5 times the US band minus 10, FR is EU plus 15, AU is US minus 22, IT is half the US band minus 14, so Italian sizing starts at a 30 band.
The cup is where equivalents go wrong. Every system counts one inch of bust-over-band per letter from A, so the sixth cup is a six-inch difference everywhere; but the US writes it DDD, the UK writes it E, and continental Europe writes it F. Converting by matching letters puts a US DDD wearer into a UK DDD that does not exist or an EU E that is a cup too small. Converting by position, sixth cup to sixth cup, gets it right every time, and that is how every row in the chart below is built. The cup size chart shows the three alphabets side by side; the converter does any pair.

34DD, 36DD and 38DD bra size equivalents
The DD sizes are the ones most often looked up, because they are the first rung where the alphabets split and the first size many people are told they "cannot be." Here are the six most searched, in every system, with their sisters.
Every US size and its equivalents
Eighty sizes, 28 to 46 bands and A to H cups, each with the five other labels and the two sisters. Filter by band to shorten the table; tap a US size for its guide page, which adds the brand run and the fit checks for that size. Cups above H (US I, J, K; UK FF to K) follow the same rules and are listed on the biggest bra size page.

Japanese sizes use the EU cup letters on the EU band with a leading letter (a US 34D is a JP D75). Australian and New Zealand letters follow the UK alphabet; Italian letters follow the European one.
Sister sizes: the same volume on a different band
The last column is the equivalent people mean when a brand does not carry their size. A sister size holds the same cup volume on the next band: down a band and up a cup, or up a band and down a cup. A 34DD, a 32DDD and a 36D are one breast on three ribcages, and the band is the only thing that changes. That makes sisters the right move when the cups fit and the band does not, and the wrong move when the band fits and the cups do not; the sister size calculator explains which way to step, and the bra too big and bra too small pages read the symptoms.
Sisters are equivalents of volume, not of fit. A 36D and a 32DDD share a cup but the 32 band is four inches tighter; someone who measures a 36 will not be comfortable in the 32. Use the chart’s sisters one step in either direction and no further, and check the wire width: it grows with the cup letter, so the 32DDD’s wire is wider than the 36D’s.
Bra size equivalents: answered
What is a bra size equivalent chart?
A table that maps one country’s bra sizes to another’s for the same body. Bands convert by formula (US 34 is EU 75, FR 90, AU 12, IT 3) and cups convert by position on the ladder, not by matching letters, because the US, UK and EU alphabets diverge above a D.
What is a 36DD bra size equivalent?
A US 36DD is a UK 36DD, an EU 80E, a French 95E, an Australian 14DD and an Italian 4E. Its sister sizes are 34DDD and 38D. In every system it describes a snug 35 to 36 inch underbust with a bust five inches larger.
What is a 34DD equivalent to?
UK 34DD, EU 75E, FR 90E, AU 12DD, IT 3E. Sisters: 32DDD and 36D. Note the EU and French letter is E, not DD; matching the letters would put you a cup small.
Is a 38DD the same as a 40D?
Same cup volume, different band. They are sister sizes: the 40D holds the same as the 38DD on a ribcage two inches larger. Which fits depends on your snug underbust, 37 to 38 inches for the 38DD and 39 to 40 for the 40D.
Why is a US DDD a UK E?
Because the two systems name the same rung differently. Both count one inch per cup from A; the US writes the sixth cup DDD (or F in some brands) while the UK writes it E. Position is identical; only the letter changes, which is why the chart converts by position.
Are bra size equivalents exact?
The arithmetic is exact and every brand’s label follows one of these systems. What varies is how each brand cuts the size: a 34D in one house can fit like a 34C or 34DD in another. The brand pages on this site note the run for each; the equivalent chart tells you which label to look for.
