International Bra Sizes
The same body is a 34C in New York, a 75C in Berlin, a 90C in Paris and a 12C in Sydney. Pick a size and watch it travel; then read how each system works and how they map onto each other.
One size, eight systems
Every tile is the same body. Bands change scale (inches, centimetres, dress numbers, Italian numbers); cup letters agree to DD and then follow each region’s alphabet. Tap a tile to see how that system arrives at its number.
The eight sizing systems
Bands in inches (30, 32, 34…). Cups A–D, then DD, DDD (sometimes F), G, H. The system most online calculators default to, and the source system on brasize.ai.
Same inch bands as the US; cups match to DD, then E, F, FF, G, GG, H: finer steps at large cups. Most full-bust specialist brands (Panache, Freya, Curvy Kate) size in UK.
Metric bands in 5 cm steps (65, 70, 75, 80…). Convert from US: band × 2.5 − 10. Cups follow the alphabet: D, E, F, G. Used across most of continental Europe.
EU band plus 15 (75 → 90). Cup letters as EU. Many French brands (Chantelle, Simone Pérèle) also print EU or US equivalents on the label.
Bands are dress-size-style numbers: US band − 22 (34 → 12). Cup letters follow UK convention (DD, E, F).
A plain number sequence: (EU band − 60) ÷ 5, so EU 75 = IT 3, EU 80 = IT 4. Cup letters as EU. Used by Italian luxury lingerie houses (La Perla, Intimissimi).
Metric bands as EU (65, 70, 75). Cup letters broadly track EU letters at common sizes; some Japanese charts grade cups in 2.5 cm steps and may sit one letter higher. Treat as a close, not exact, equivalent.
Uses standard EU sizing: metric bands and continuous cup letters. Listed separately because "German sizing" is often searched for; it is the EU system.

Shopping across systems
Convert the label, then apply what you know about the brand. UK-sized full-bust brands typically cut firmer bands; French brands often run narrower in the wire; Japanese brands are cut for a smaller frame at the same label. The conversion gets you to the shelf; a quick fit check gets you to the right bra.
When a site lets you choose a sizing system, pick the brand's native system rather than a converted one: the native size is what the pattern was drafted to. Convert your own size into it and start there.
Key takeaway: conversions are exact for the label and approximate for the fit. Convert precisely, then trust the mirror.

International sizes: answered
What is my bra size in European sizing?
Multiply your US band by 2.5 and subtract 10 for the EU band; cup letters match up to D. A US 34C is an EU 75C, a US 36D is an EU 80D.
Is UK bra sizing the same as US?
Bands are identical. Cups match through DD, then diverge: US DDD = UK E, US G = UK F, US H = UK FF.
What is a 75C in US sizing?
An EU 75C is a US 34C. Reverse the formula: (75 + 10) ÷ 2.5 = 34.
What is Australian bra sizing?
Australian bands are dress-size numbers: US band − 22, so US 34 = AU 12. Cups follow the UK letter sequence.
How does Italian bra sizing work?
Italian bands are numbered 1, 2, 3, 4… where each step is 5 cm of EU band: (EU − 60) ÷ 5. An EU 75 is an Italian 3.
Is German bra sizing different from EU?
No. Germany uses standard EU sizing: metric bands and continuous cup letters.
